     ALS competition is a scenario based contest   that simulates a team response to an EMS call that requires advance life   support skills.

    Extrication - Ambulance

    EMT/BLS (Basic Life Support)

    Extrication – Light & Heavy Rescue Truck

      

    Extrication Competition – Ambulance is a hands on scenario based contest. Teams will use skill taught in the Vehicle Extrication Course approved by the VAVRS and the Virginia DFP. Teams will be responsible for providing their own vehicle and tools. The response vehicles used in the Ambulance Competition are restricted to vehicle licensed to transport a patient in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

    Extrication – Light & Heavy Rescue Truck

      

    Extrication Competition – Ambulance is a hands on scenario based contest. Teams will use skill taught in the Vehicle Extrication Course approved by the VAVRS and the Virginia DFP. Teams will be responsible for providing their own vehicle and tools. Any Fire/Rescue vehicle not licensed transport a patient in the Commonwealth of Virginia may be used in this contest.

    Rescue Competition is a scenario based event where teams will use skill taught in the VAVRS Basic and Light Duty Rescue Awareness and Low Angle Operations and Vertical Rescue curriculums and the Virginia Department of Fire Programs Ropes curriculum.

    Agencies and Districts prepare and present scrapbooks and Video Scrapbooks based on the theme “FIRST RESPONDERS-ONE TEAM-ONE MISSION-ONE GOAL” detailing their activities for a specified time period. There are multiple categories to compete in. Please see the contest rules for further information.


    Date: All scrapbooks must be received by the VAVRS Historian before August 24, 2021, 2019
